On Road Safety with Line Marking in Australia
Kempsey Bypass Project $618 million upgrade
The $618 million Kempsey bypass project involves building a 14.5 kilo metre, four-lane divided highway with bypasses of Kempsey and Frederickton. The bypass, contracted to Leighton’s Contractors is the first stage of the approved 40 kilo metre Kempsey to Eungai upgrade. Construction started in July 2010 and is scheduled to open to traffic by mid 2013.
Funded by the Australian Governments Building Australia Fund, the bypass project will improve road safety of the area by providing an uninterrupted highway traffic flow in turn increasing reliability and time travel through the region. Abi Group has also been contracted to build a 3.2 kilo metre bridge over the Macleay River and floodplain at Frogmore and is an important part of the project
